My Story
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tony, and my journey has always been fuelled by a love for food and flavour. My passion for cooking began at a young age and grew into a lifelong calling. When the time was right, I opened TONY’S PLACE – a pizzeria with a wood oven I built with my own hands. After its success, I ventured into the world of Mr. Sausage, an eatery that specialised in gourmet sausages. Eventually, I made a life-changing decision – I sold everything in South Africa and moved to England to start fresh. But one thing I couldn’t leave behind was my craving for biltong and a cold beer – that unbeatable taste of home. This craving turned into inspiration. I realised there were thousands of South Africans across Europe, just like me, missing the flavours that connected us to where we came from. That’s when I founded what has now become Mzansi Biltong Co. The word Mzansi means South Africa itself, and that’s exactly what we bring you – the heart and soul of South Africa, crafted from the finest Irish beef and seasoned with authentic South African spice blends. Today, Mzansi Biltong Co. is more than just a brand. It’s a bridge between continents, a taste of heritage, and a celebration of community. Every bag of biltong, droëwors, or boerewors we make is a piece of home – made with care, pride, and a whole lot of love.
